The
Institute for Performance Success for Brass
is a 6 day intensive event hosted by the
Institute's Directors, Sam Pilafian and
Patrick Sheridan. The seminar will take
place in Phoenix, Arizona. Eight to twelve
of the finest low brass players (trombone,
euphonium and tuba), chosen from around the
world by taped audition, will participate in
daily group practice sessions, masterclasses
and special topic lectures. The goal is to
elevate the technical and musical mastery of
low brass performance and pedagogy to the
highest level.
Each seminar will introduce the Institute's
proven method for performance improvement,
including techniques from The Breathing Gym,
conducting and rehearsal techniques for
educators, a workable anxiety management
system, and various other topics relating to
business leadership and entrepreneurship,
including an inside look at two of the music
world's most prominent entrepreneurs'
careers! Ample discussion opportunities
related to all issues addressed at the
seminar are also scheduled at meals and
planned social sessions. The seminar also
aims to provide a connection to a network of
talented
young
performers and educators who will serve as
the participants' colleagues over the course
of their careers.
